...which is not so regularly scheduled to bring you this update.

No, this is not part of my Top 5. Si je suis honnête, j'oublie what I was going to talk about. One of the reasons that I "preview" my next Top 5 entry is so that I can look at the previous entry and know what it was I wanted to highlight. I made a list a some point in time, but who knows where that list is now - somewhere in a box that I haven't yet unpacked, most likely.

But on the bright side, and on to the reason for the interruption - the buyers of our house are so anxious to move in that they asked to move up the closing date by 5 days, which means that 5 Star Mari will sign the paper work to close on it on Friday! That means that we can begin shopping for the new furnishings next week (NOT this weekend, as Beauchamp et lui feront du ski avec Scouts).

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far, things are coming together as long as you look at the rooms that we already had in the last house. The living room is definitely live-able (although we are all SO excited for the new furniture), notre chambre et celle de Beauchamp are both much more pleasant now that they've been painted, and the kitchen is beautiful! I've included a pic here (from before we bought it), because it might be my favorite room of the house so far.

Future projects include:
  1. Taking the entertainment room to the basement and adding a treadmill.
  2. Buying shelving for The Leaky Cauldron (the leaky cement storage area in the basement) and buying wine racks, as it will be the perfect wine cellar. Is anyone who knows me really surprised that my wine cellar will be HP-themed? I even get a sign!
  3. Buying a farmhouse table from James + James that will fit into the dining room. We're hoping for a square table with a bench, a small hutch for china inherited from my grandmother, and room for 8 so that I can begin helping to host family dinners.
  4. Decorating the loft to be notre sports bar. The plan is to go all-out sports, leather seating, giant flat screen, and a wet bar and/or mini-fridge (there are issues regarding existing installations).  This is one that nous espérons to finish avant the World Cup cet été. Even though the US draw was awful, we will have an awesome time watching from the 3rd floor loft with...
  5. ..the rooftop patio! (Honestly, #4 and #5 are why we bought the place!) We know that we want lights strung back and forth across the top, à la une piazza à Rome, but we haven't come up with any other true ideas yet. We know that we need furniture, but we haven't seen anything yet that we love...so we'll wait. :)

The next few months will be crazy, what with decorating, a fairly constant open house, lacrosse, attempting to graduate, ramping up of the end-of-school (everyone seems to think winding down, but that doesn't really happen until after finals!), Spring Break, hosting all of the things I've imaginarily planned to host... ;) But at the end of the day, I'll have this wonderful place to come home to with my amazing family and some super-awesome friends!
